Guest Artist
I wanted to offer artists who are doing similar work a space to
display their work on my website. Contact me if you have interest.
I saw an artist, Rebekah Purcell work at the Blue Elephant in downtown
Frederick, Maryland. I like her eye for the replication in nature.
My work first came about because I needed to have a concentration
of 12 photographs with a cohesive theme for my AP Studio Art class in
high school. It took me a while actually to come up with an idea. The
idea first came to me when I was looking at a photograph I had taken of
this these rocks embedded in the side of a hill. When I was looking at
the Photo on its side, I thought to myself that the rocks almost look
like toes. Which sparked an idea in my head of comparing objects that I
found in nature that reminded me of human characteristics. I would
explore different areas around where I live looking for nature that
inspired the comparison to human characteristics. I really enjoyed this
theme and I definitely think it is something that I will continue to do.
